The game takes place on 12 December 2026, with preparatory activities the day before and clean-up the day after. Below is a rudimentary schedule of the weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All players are required to be on-site on Saturday by 10:00. Since the second workshop covers important social safety concepts, it is not optional. All players are strongly encouraged to arrive by Friday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nFood and drinks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The event includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, as well as breakfast on Sunday. The exact meals will be decided on the basis of the allergies submitted by players, but please do not expect anything particularly extravagant. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are provided throughout the entire event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You are free to bring any food and beverages to consume. The organisers forbid the consumption of alcohol before the end of the day\u2019s activities. The consumption of drugs (or even bringing drugs onto the premises) is forbidden by the rules of the location, and will result in a zero-warning ban. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nSleeping<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Dumpster Pyre: the Masquerade takes place at Kampeerboerderij ‘t Uilenest in Geldrop, the Netherlands. The location provides sufficient bunk beds equipped with mattresses and pillows. You will need to bring all other sleeping goods yourself. From the organizers\u2019 experience, it is advisable to bring your own pillow too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nPacking list<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
You will need the following items to participate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- A costume appropriate to your character and vampire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Sleeping equipment as described above.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- A small bag to hold dice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- As many ten-sided dice (d10\u2019s) as you can spare.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, please prepare by reading all paperwork sent to you a sufficient time before the larp starts. As a rule of thumb, make sure you have read everything before the day of the larp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nCharacter sheets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The ST\u2019s will write your character and vampire for you. We will try to send both character sheets at least four weeks before the event. Please read and make sure you understand them before the event. If something is unclear feel free to contact the storytellers with questions. The character sheet will also include more specific costume guidelines and prop requests, if appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nCostumes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The players play as badly costumed larpers in the 1999 gothic scene. Imagine black clothing, too much eyeliner, a questionable amount of leather and as much angst as possible, ideally with a splash of trenchcoat. Please put some effort into looking the part, it will make the game more visually appealing for everyone. Since everyone plays a bad 90\u2019s larper, this does not have to mean the costume needs to be elaborate or particularly fancy. Rather, self-made props, second hand curtain cloaks and overuse of goth clothing is encouraged. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Specifically, we ask you not to bring or wear any of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- Band shirts (or other merchandise) of bands that did not exist in 1999.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Clothes that came into use or fashion well after 1999.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Anything that features realistic spiders (since one of the storytellers is rather arachnophobic).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Prop weapons that cannot easily be distinguished from real weapons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Real weapons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Clothing that violates swimming pool rules (in terms of exposure).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
The larp costuming is What You See Is What You Get: if you bring a shitty prop, your character has brought a shitty prop with them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
